Carter Bend Studio / on this machine

Keep your dimensions and bend order as you compare machines, explore Euram tooling and build your quotation.
Illustrative machine and sampled tool-section checks. Final capacity, tooling, gauging and full-machine clearances require a setup review.
Control that suits your work
Independent backgauge
Position each backgauge finger independently in depth, height and across the machine. This gives you more flexibility when gauging asymmetric components and setting up demanding folded parts.

Carter Bend Studio
Choose a profile or draw your own. Explore the shape in 2D and 3D, step through the bends and take a dimensional drawing into your discussion with Carter.
Choose your control
Choose straightforward Y/X control, programmable five-function CNC, or independent ten-function CNC for more demanding gauging setups.
| Function | 2-axis NC | 5-axis CNC | 10-axis CNC |
|---|---|---|---|
| Ram position | Y | Y | Y1 / Y2 |
| Backgauge depth | X | X | X1 / X2 |
| Powered backgauge height | — | R | R1 / R2 |
| Sideways finger positioning | Manual Z | Manual Z | Z1 / Z2 |
| Pressure (bending tonnage) | Manual setting | P | P |
| Anti Deflection System / crowning | No crowning | ADS | ADS |
| Control | NC | Graphical CNC | Graphical CNC |
Tell us your material, thickness and bending length. We’ll help you choose the capacity, control and tooling for the job.

Draw your profile. Calculate a bend sequence. Explore the tooling and machine for your work.
Select a template or use Free Draw to create a section.
Search alternative bend orders and both part orientations, or arrange the operations below.
The search currently completes each bend in one hit. Candidate sequences are screened against the selected tool sections and overlapping sheet segments during approach, forming and retraction. Tool outlines and sharp-corner part geometry are approximate. Whole-machine clearance, upper clamping, gauging, tooling load, bend radii and movement between operations need a setup review.
The forming profile updates with the same sequence shown above.
Development is an estimate. Confirm bend allowances against your tooling and test bends before cutting.
Find a punch, die or holder by its reference. Selected profiles can be used in Bend Studio to explore the sequence for your component.
Bend Studio checks the drawn tool cross-sections and sheet thickness. The full machine, upper holders and part-removal path are not collision-checked. Lower-holder profiles are preliminary; unspecified supports are schematic. Confirm the complete setup and development before manufacture.
Use the actual material certificate where available. Reference force follows the Carter air-bending guide. Listed CNC capacities follow the Carter size range. The NC match currently covers the known 3400 × 125T size. Opening height, throat, between-frame clearance and load distribution are confirmed in a setup review.
Punch and die lengths use the catalogue’s solid sections. Holders use their own listed lengths and must support the full installed die run. Holder layout, machine fit, availability and prices are confirmed in your quotation.
Carter Machinery / understand the control
See how the ram, backgauge, pressure and crowning work together. Choose a machine and select a function to explore its movement.
X moves in depth; R moves vertically; Z moves sideways along the machine. Demonstration settings show relative travel.

Mechanically powered lower-beam crowning, used to compensate for beam deflection across the bending length.
